Episode 18 - Dave McLellan: One of the fathers of the Corvette

Dave McLellan is one of the fathers of the Chevrolet Corvette and was the second-ever chief engineer of Corvette, taking over the post from the legendary Zora Arkus-Duntov in 1975. He was the chief engineer of the legendary American sports car for the next 17 years, putting an indelible stamp on the automobile. He oversaw the creation of the breakthrough C4 model of the Corvette as well as the creation of the C4 ZR-1, which put the Corvette on the world stage as a high-tech sports car.

He’s also the author of http://www.davemclellanlegal.com/corvette-from-the-inside/. If you’re a fan of Corvettes, it’s a great read.

In our podcast interview, we talked about Dave’s time at GM, his thoughts on the new breed of electric cars, working with Zora Duntov, his take on the recently unveiled C8 Corvette and much more. While he’s been officially retired from GM for some time, Dave continues to work in the industry as an expert in product liability, forensic engineering and vehicle accident reconstruction.
