The NHL Players' Association presented its 'alternative proposal' to NHL comissioner Gary Bettman & Company on Tuesday. Reading the media coverage about the handover, I was blown away by the brilliance of the photo opp staged by the NHL Players' Association. In the shot, the group's executive director, the infamous Donald Fehr, is flanked by a group of 23 NHLers.

Most notable in the photo by the Canadian Press's Chris Young are Alexander Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby and Steven Stamkos. The presence of these heavy-hitting players, who represent hundreds of millions of dollars worth of hockey-playing talent, combines for an extremely powerful visual that's getting a lot of play in the sports media today.
